BOOKSHOPS & COFFEESHOPS
Coffee and bookshops have been established in some of our buildings and these have proved an effective way of reaching out to the community. In Greenock, where the first shop was built adjacent to the church, members of the public frequently express appreciation of the atmosphere of peace they feel in the building – and for the good food and excellent home baking! A significant number of prayer requests come to the Fellowship from patrons of the shop who seem to recognise it as a place of help in their time of need. Outreaches to mothers and toddlers, to the elderly in care homes and to those bound by addictions are examples of the work of the church in which many members are involved. Select a location below for details of each shop's facilities and opening hours.
BOOKS BY HUGH B. BLACK
Our bookshops have a large selection of books which Mr Black, one of the founding ministers of the church, wrote towards the end of his long life of Christian service. These books cover themes that were very dear to him e.g. salvation, the baptism in the Holy Spirit, healing, deliverance and revival, as well as studies on some of the great men of faith in the Bible. The books contain a wealth of Christian teaching but also amazing insights and anecdotes which make them very enjoyable reading.
