By Diana Rutherford Minister of Struthers Memorial Church, Cumbernauld I have had the pleasure and privilege to visit some of our branch churches and contacts recently. I thought perhaps that folks would be interested in a wee report. Aylesbury, EnglandMy first visit was to Aylesbury in early September. I was able to attend both the Saturday night and Sunday morning services. The Saturday night was attended by a number of folks, many whom I had never met before. We had a good service. Alan began by taking the singing before I shared my testimony and preached for a little while. We turned to prayer at the end and there came a nice atmosphere as we sang and prayed together. On the Sunday morning the numbers were smaller but I felt very at home and there came that wonderful, intimate presence of Christ that we associate with our communion services. We were really able to relax and feed deeply in the presence of God. A lady gave her life to Christ at the end of the meeting and also received her baptism in the Holy Spirit whilst a second came for prayer and was also baptised in the Spirit. South WalesThe second visit was to South Wales in late September. Our first meeting was in Merthyr Tydfil on the Saturday morning. There were about 50 folks at the meeting with around 13 people we hadn't met before. Gareth and Helen took the first part of the meeting. We had a testimony from Laura from our Cumbernauld Church to salvation and baptism in the Holy Spirit before I preached on the freedom Christ brings. Around 10 people responded for prayer. Many received help. One young man came to Christ whilst another two were baptised in the Holy Spirit. We had another two meetings scheduled for the Saturday evening and Sunday morning in Neath. The Saturday evening service was lovely; a family from Malta joined us for the weekend and were greatly encouraged with the blessing they received. Again the Sunday morning was beautiful. There came a rich presence of God. As Helen led the worship, Graham and I ministered to folks. We were delighted to see another person baptised in the Holy Spirit before the end of the weekend. Dublin, IrelandOur third visit was to Dublin in October. One of our Teen Challenge contacts had organised a meeting and asked me to go over and preach. We had a fabulous time! Around 50 gathered at the meeting. Mark Rodgers led a lively time of singing before Gavin gave a very good testimony. I preached afterwards on the cleansing power of the blood of Christ. Between 35-40 responded for prayer. It was a late night! We were very pleased to see one man come to Christ and another seven baptised in the Holy Spirit before the night was through. There were many others who received help and left strengthened. London ConferenceThe latest visit was once again to Aylesbury, this time for our yearly conference. Due to circumstances I was only able to attend for the Saturday. There were around 40-50 present that day. Pauline and Mark took a lively meeting in the afternoon. In the evening I preached on the fact that Christ took our place and protects us from the power of the wicked one. During the prayer time at the end, Graham and Pauline both ministered and I was delighted to learn that someone received their baptism in the Holy Spirit.
There is only one further visit planned for this year and that is to Merthyr Tydfil and Neath in late November. I look forward to this with great anticipation. Please continue to pray for the work of God across our churches and connections.
